Canary Nungwi Hotel & Free SPA

Everything in this hotel was great, from the hospitality to the comfort of the room to the location. Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights and honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough! Probably the best nights’ sleep we’ve had since we’ve came to zanzibar, the mattress and pillows very comfortable. We were only 4 minutes walk away to the beach, the roads are lit up and very safe to walk back to the hotel at night as well. And also even though all the staff were great we want to give a special shout out to Mohamed who always made sure we felt right at home and had everything we wished for

Early checking: First of all, we were meet at the airport and it’s so convenient to come exactly to hotel. As we have arrived early in the morning with tired kids, we have asked for early check in and very pleasant manager quickly organised us a room. The hotel is very cozy, surrounded by greenery, with comfortable swimming pool, lots of umbrellas. The territory is constantly cleaned, the cleaning in the rooms was also excellent. It felt like the bed linen was changed every day. Beautiful swans made of towels, decorated with flowers, were really nice) Breakfast: The breakfast was not very varied but had all the basics: scrambled eggs or fried eggs cooked to your liking, fresh and cooked vegetables, a wide variety of fruits and pastries. Food: We had half pension and it was convenient. For dinner, we could choose one dish from the menu. The portions were really huge and the food was delicious. The menu is varied, lots of seafood. We often ordered also lunch at the hotel: it was convenient to dine by the pool, the price is lower than in a cafe by the sea. Sometimes we asked to adapt dishes to the taste of children (remove spices or vegetables), and they always met us halfway. Service: We often had to ask for non-standard requests and they always met us halfway. For example, we asked for a rearrangement in the room so that we would be more comfortable with the little ones, and everything was quickly organised. Or asked to change large pillows for small ones. It seems to be trifles, but they all make up a feeling of comfort and good rest. Beach: The hotel is a 5 minute leisurely walk from the beach. The road passes through quiet streets with cafes and restaurants, but the best part is that it leads to the most beautiful part of Nungwi beach. The hotel offers dry cleaning services at very good prices. The dry cleaning of the shirt cost me less than $1. Everything was ready in a few hours.

The place is beautiful, the atmosphere inside the hotel is peaceful and so equtorial. The food is delicious and special kudos for the staff, they are the most friendly and nicest people in the word... PS: the hotel is 5 minutes far to the beautiful nunwi beach

We apreciated our stay at Canary because we felt at home and everything was perfect during our stay. The owners were always present and available, they ask every day what they can do for us. Great location (just 5 minutes walking from the beach). Room was cleared every day and all the employees were very friendly. Very good breakfast and dinner options (different buffet every day). One of the best beds that we splet in our life. We hope to return one day.

Located 5-10 minute walk from Nungwi beach and the nearby restaurants, shops, spas. My room was a good size, had a netting door for insects, and had good air conditioner (though this did stop working on my last night but I noticed this too late in the night for me to bother flagging with the staff) I arrived at 0200 and staff were available to check me in. Staff were polite throughout the stay and actively checked in on if they could help improve the experience. There are two restaurant areas on site- one for breakfast and other space next to the pool open through the day. The hotel manager offered to prepare a breakfast pack on days where the tours I had signed up started before breakfast time. 2nd restaurant is open from 1000-2200 and has a wide range of food. Got to try some swahili food here and again staff were lovely. There is a good sized pool and spa at the venue which I did not have time to use. There is a small gym which despite its size is better equipped than most hotel gyms I have previously been to- with good options for resistance training. Also nice to have table tennis and pool tables available.
